Your Data Privacy Rights
At Pomo, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy outlines how you can request the deletion of your personal data from our systems and how we handle such requests.
Under various privacy regulations, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you may have the right to request the deletion of your personal data that we have collected and stored.
For complete information about how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
If You Are Not a Pomo Customer
Pomo's customers are businesses that use Pomo to research companies, press contacts and creators for their own outreach. That research uses public sources, so Pomo may hold information about you even though you have never used Pomo: for example your name, role and employer, a work email address, a published press contact route, a public creator profile with the business contact details on it, or a public social post. The People Found Through Marketing Research section of our Privacy Policy lists what we hold, where it comes from and why it is used.
You can ask us to remove it. You do not need a Pomo account, there is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason. Email [email protected] with:
- your name;
- what we should look for: the work email address, employer, outlet, or social handle and profile link that identifies you;
- if someone contacted you using Pomo, a copy of the message or the sender's name, so we can find the workspace it came from;
- whether you also want a copy of what we hold about you.
When we receive your request, we:
- confirm it comes from you or someone acting for you, for example by asking you to reply from the address concerned. We use what you send only to handle the request;
- search Pomo's records for the identifiers you gave us;
- delete the matching records Pomo holds: business contact research and saved contacts with their draft emails, PR contact entries, creator records with their saved contact details, and social prospect entries, including copies saved in customer workspaces on Pomo;
- reply within 30 days to say what we deleted or that we found nothing.
Removal deletes what Pomo holds. It does not change the public pages the information came from, and it does not reach a message already delivered to you or data held by third-party services. If a Pomo customer has emailed you, you can also reply to that sender and ask them to stop. Pomo does not currently keep a permanent do-not-contact list, so a later search could find the same public information again. If that happens, tell us and we will delete it again.
What Data Can Be Deleted
Upon request, we can delete the following types of data:
- Your account information, including email address, name, and contact details
- Your usage data and preferences
- Content you have created using our platform
- Campaign data and analytics associated with your account
- Payment information (though some records may be retained for legal compliance)
How to Request Data Deletion
You can request the deletion of your data in the following ways:
1. Account Deletion
You can delete your account directly from your account settings page. This will initiate the process of removing your account and associated data from our systems.
2. Contact Us
You can submit a data deletion request by filling out the form below or by emailing us at [email protected].
3. Slack
If your workspace uses the Pomo app for Slack, uninstalling the app from Slack or revoking its token deletes, as soon as Slack notifies Pomo, the Slack-derived data of every company profile connected to that workspace: the Slack conversations with their messages and attached files, Slack identity links, channel pins, and the app's access token. Disconnecting Slack from one company profile in Pomo deletes that profile's Slack data only; the token is removed once no company profile remains connected. See the Slack Integration section of our Privacy Policy.
Data Deletion Process
Once we receive your request, we will:
- Verify your identity to ensure the security of your data
- Review your request to understand the scope of data deletion needed
- Process your request, which typically takes 30 days to complete
- Notify you once your data has been deleted
Please note that some data may be retained for legal, compliance, or business continuity purposes, such as:
- Information required for tax, accounting, or legal compliance
- Aggregated analytics that no longer identify you personally
- Information necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse
- Backup data that will be automatically purged according to our retention schedule
Exceptions and Limitations
In some cases, we may be unable to completely delete all of your data due to:
- Legal obligations to retain certain records
- Technical limitations in our systems
- The need to maintain information for legitimate business purposes
- Information shared with third parties, which would require you to contact them directly
If we are unable to fully comply with your deletion request, we will explain the reasons and provide information about any remaining data we must retain.
Third-Party Data
Our service may use third-party services that collect data. Please note that your data deletion request to us does not automatically extend to these third parties. You may need to contact them separately to request deletion of your data from their systems.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Data Deletion Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
